Did you know that building an average home takes about 25 fully grown trees?
We're passionate about making an impact through this project and doing what we can, as a business, to improve our sustainability efforts into the future. After gathering research regarding our ecosystem, we found out that forests still cover about 30 percent of the world’s land area, they are disappearing at an alarming rate. According to the World Bank from 1990 to 2016, the world lost 1.3 million square kilometers of forest—an area larger than South Africa.
About 17% of the Amazon Rainforest has been destroyed over the past 50 years, and the losses have been on the rise.
With these distressing statistics, we asked ourselves what we could do as a business to make a difference. Not only do trees clean our air and water and help regulate our climate, they provide important habitat for wildlife, provide economic outcomes, and improve the overall health of people and communities around the world.
Therefore we are excited to announce that we’ve recently partnered with One Tree Planted/@onetreeplanted to plant 100 trees for every home purchased or sold by The YYC Real Estate Group.
Established in 2014, One Tree Planted is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to global reforestation, restoring biodiversity and raising awareness. In just 2020, One Tree Planted has helped plant 15,000,000+ trees all over the world.
